DNA Photo RE-NU
The D.Thomas Clinic has innovated the popular Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment and combined it with non-ablative skin resurfacing Resurfx to create the bespoke DNA PhotoRe-Nu. For many years, the term IPL has been synonymous with colour correction for skin, as the intense, broad-spectrum light heats and destroys dark pigment patches, melasma, broken capillaries and sunspots. Now, we combine IPL’s proven colour correcting qualities with advanced skin rejuvenation using the unique non-ablative Resurfx, both courtesy of the Lumenis M22 platform, to turbocharge the performance of the DNA Photo Re-Nu to deep clean, clear and smooth away any sign of late nights, weather-beaten walks and central heating.
What can you expect from this treatment?
Immediately after your treatment, you can expect to be red, puffy and you may feel like you have sunburn – a warm stinging sensation. After 12-24 hours, all stinging will most likely be gone and the swelling will be minimal, if not completely gone, just leaving some redness for a further 24-48 hours.
On day 4, redness should be significantly reduced if not completely gone, but the skin will be scaly and flaky for a further 24-72 hours.
The IPL reactions are not so visible alongside the recovery process of the Resurfx, but include the darkening of pigment spots before they break up and flake off over a 4-7 day process.
After day 7, the overall skin will feel brand new, like a phoenix from the ashes: shiny smooth, even toned and plump.
The rejuvenation effects from new collagen production can take several months to develop and best results can be seen after 3 sessions.
